Details
I believe that justice demands participation. Through interventions both within and outside the system, I seek to increase transparency and demonstrate the power of individuals to contribute to everyday justice.
My research was inspired by my own experience serving on a grand jury in Manhattan in June of 2016. For the first time, I felt complicit in a system I wasn't sure I agreed with. Faced with moral dilemmas and troubling realities, I began digging into the history of juries, jurors' power, and what they don't tell you. In the process, I became fascinated with projects seeking to improve the user experience of government services and the power of design to restore and reaffirm trust in government.
